Surgeon's Research Achievements

Dr. Lim remains active in research, and continues to run the Skin Cell Research Group laboratories at the National University of Singapore with A/Prof Phan Toan Thang.

He presented his research on Epithelial-Mesenchymal Interactions in Keloid Pathobiology at the North American Plastic Surgery Research Council, and received the Saleh M Shenaq International Research Award in 2001. He has also been Co-Author for the Young Scientist Award by the Singapore National Medical Research Council (NMRC) for 2 consecutive years. This work was subsequently presented at the Gordon Scientific Conference in 2003. Dr. Lim remains a Full Active Member of the North American Plastic Surgery Research Council to this day.

Dr. Lim is a Founder Director of Singapore Biotechnology companies CellResearch Corporation and CordLabs, both of which focus on Umbilical Cord Lining Stem Cell research. He is also co-inventor for multiple patents related to Umbilical Cord Lining Stem Cells (20 international patents as of June 2014) as well as for tissue engineering applications.
